How Service is Provided
Midtown Assistance Center operates with a qualified
staff and a core of trained community volunteers who interview prospective
clients five days a week.
Each individual is screened for eligibility and
advised of the specific types of assistance the Center provides.
Depending on the individual's physical and emotional needs, they
are offered whatever financial assistance Midtown Assistance Center
can provide, and their concerns and needs are listened to and treated
with dignity and respect.
The staff and volunteers pursue a full process
of verification prior to any assistance. Among other things, we
verify location of residence, length of time at that residence,
and future or past employment.
Midtown Assistance Center is also diligent in
follow-up in order to ensure that the funds have been utilized as
intended. Through participation in the Pathways System and the diligence
of staff, client tracking can be successfully achieved and duplication
of aid among centers across Atlanta minimized.
